Original Penguin sale: 70% off polos before the extra 15% code even applies

Original Penguin's summer sale is advertised at up to 50% off with a further 15% via the listed code SUMMER15 — and the racks actually run deeper than the headline. Across five pages we checked 141 reduced menswear items, and while half price is the standard cut, a seam of last-season polos and tees sits at 70% off before the code is even applied.

The 70% seam is small but real:

How the discount works
Sale prices are already applied on the page, RRPs are shown against every item, and the extra 15% from the listed code comes off at checkout — £9 tees drop to £7.65, the £40 track jacket to £34. Several items carry an "almost gone" flag, which in our experience of this retailer means the mid sizes (M and L) disappear first. No end date is published.
Worth it?
For a heritage menswear brand this is a strong sale rather than a token one: 70% off before a stacking code is clearance-grade pricing on lines that still hang in the full-price section. The best value plays are the knitwear and flannel at 60% — bought out of season, worn from September. The polos are the classic Penguin buy, but check the colour before you assume a bargain: the deepest cuts are on the brighter shades, and the navy and black staples mostly sit in the 50% tier.
