Swoon cuts 293 refurbished designs by 50%, with sofas from £719

Swoon has cut its refurbished furniture range by 50% in what the retailer describes as a limited-time clearance, covering 293 designs across sofas, storage, dining, beds and accessories. The stock is returned pieces that "may have had the odd bump on their way back to us, but are still functioning flawlessly". No discount code is needed — the reductions are already applied on the Swoon clearance page — and no closing date has been published.

What's in the sale

The range splits into two grades. Swoon Almost Perfect accounts for 228 of the pieces and covers designs with surface imperfections; Swoon Not Perfect covers the remaining 65 and is described as designs with minor faults. Both are listed as functioning normally. Discounting is flat at roughly half price across both grades, so the largest cash savings sit on upholstery and case furniture rather than on small accessories.

How the discount works

This is a clearance of returned and refurbished stock rather than a sitewide event, so it is limited to what appears on the clearance page — 293 designs at the time of checking. Nothing stacks on top and no code applies. Swoon publishes no end date, labelling the banner only "limited time only". Because each listing is a single returned item rather than a production run, sold-out designs do not return.

Worth it?

The value here is real but narrow. Half price on a £2,799 corner sofa is a £1,400 saving that Swoon's ordinary seasonal sales do not approach, and the Almost Perfect grade — surface marks only — is the sensible starting point for anything upholstered. The Not Perfect grade is described as carrying minor faults rather than purely cosmetic ones, so the individual listing is worth reading before committing on a large item. Smaller accessories save far less in cash terms and clear fastest, so anyone after a specific piece should not wait for a second markdown: with single returned items there generally is not one.
